A child was martyred and at least four civilians were injured as Indian troops continued to target residential areas across the Line of Control (LoC), said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The two-year-old was martyred in the Dhudnial sector and the civilians were injured in Baroh, Rakhchikri and Chirikot sectors.
During the last 24 hours, Indian Army troops targetted civilians in “total disregard to the ceasefire agreement and international conventions”.
The military’s media wing added that Pakistan Army troops “effectively responded and targeted those Indian posts which initiated fire”.
The injured were shifted to nearby medical facilities.
On Sunday, Indian troops had also deliberately targeted civilians along the LoC and the Working Boundary in Chirikot and Shakargarh sectors.
The use of artillery and heavy mortars caused injuries to a 35-year-old resident of Seiran Village and a 57-year-old resident of Nangal Village.
In 2020, the Indian Army has committed more than 710 ceasefire violations, causing multiple deaths and injuries to civilians residing near the heavily militarised border area.
